ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders held a top level meeting on Saturday of which most important outcome was that Nawaz Sharif will remain the prime minister and if the time comes the party would utilise all the legal and constitutional options.
The high-level meeting of the PML-N leaders took place under the premier, pertaining to the political situation of the country.
The prime minister said that he presented before the Joint Investigation Team for the supremacy of the law.
“My entire family was summoned, but we were not informed about the allegations against us,” he said.
PML-N leaders express reservations over JIT
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, who was also present in the meeting, said that the JIT has been controversial since day one.
He said that the JIT should have been headed by the Federal Investigation Agency, while expressing reservation over the inclusion of security agencies in the process of investigation.
“Under which law, the permission to tap phone calls was given,” said Rafique.
Inclusion of former Qatari PM mandatory for investigation: Khawaja Asif
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that it was mandatory to include former Qatari prime minister in the investigation process.
He warned that failure to do so would lead to the rejection of the JIT report.
